WEB DEVELOPER

Position: Web Developer and Tech QA
Location: Seattle, WA (remote OK, local preferred)
Status: Contract
Rate: $55. - $65./hour DOE




JOB DESCRIPTION

We’re seeking a web developer to join our small-but-growing team who support a number of clients and projects, large and small. We are receiving many new work requests, including detailed data entry work for several clients outside the US. You have excellent attention to detail, critical thinking skills and a strong working knowledge of web-based content management, tracking and project management systems. You are able to be responsible for interpreting client requests correctly, asking smart questions and be the back-stop for accurate QA of work deliverables before they are shared with our clients.

CONTRACT POSITION

  • 20-30 hours per week, working PST hours
  • Target start date: January 2025
  • Residents in WA state preferred
  • Compensation: $55. - $65./hour DOE

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Learn and utilize third-party/proprietary CMS systems to build sites and emails on secured hardware
  • Write readable, efficient code to build web sites, templates, and HTML email
  • Identify and fix bugs in your code or code written by others
  • Independently or collaboratively test/QA your work on contemporary browsers, clients, and devices

REQUIREMENTS

  • 2-5 years of professional web development experience
  • Previous work experience in a design firm or agency atmosphere preferred
  • Ability and interest in becoming proficient in a Fortune 100 company’s proprietary CMS tool
  • Strong fundamental skills in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Experience with source control systems (Git, Subversion)
  • Working knowledge of task management or ticket tracking systems is a plus (Asana, Jira, Basecamp)
  • Familiarity with WordPress or other content management systems (CMS) and/or e-commerce systems like Shopify
  • Excellent communication, writing, and organizational skills
  • Natural attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to devise multiple solutions to a particular problem
  • Ability to manage multiple projects of various types efficiently
  • Comfortable working with a distributed team using remote tools such as Slack, Teams, and Zoom
  • Proactive team player with a responsive, can-do attitude
